Handler Suzanne and search dog Keb sitting on a rockCongratulations to Suzanne and K9 Keb on their  recent airscent recertification using our new protocol of live along with large source.  In this test, the team must locate both a live human and a large source of human remains with the K9 demonstrating their final trained behavior for both types of subjects.  They were the first of our new team to test under this new protocol.

They successfully completed the test in record time!

End of Watch – K9 Bosse (2001 -2017)

Search dog Bosse searching woodpileK9 Bosse was a treasured member of our SAR family, working alongside his partner, Suzanne Elshult.  As a certified wilderness airscent K9, Bosse jumped out of helicopters, rappelled, climbed and helped to bring home the lost and missing.  When his search career ended at age 13, he went on to educate the public at many, many public relations events and to help out new handlers on our team.  Who can forget that high head pop and prancing step when he found someone – he knew “hottie doggies” were on the way!

RIP K9 Bosse – End of Watch, 2001 – 2017
